2022 marks the 55th anniversary of the first launch of the IRT-T Research Nuclear Reactor of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University. The TPU nuclear reactor is a unique educational and research platform, the only operating university nuclear reactor in Russia, where students are trained annually, strategic tasks are solved to train specialists in the field of nuclear and radiation safety, nuclear medicine and energy, and the creation of new materials.

Tomsk Polytechnic University holds the Days of Nuclear Science and Technology - 2022 (DNST 2022) - a series of events dedicated to the launch of a research nuclear reactor.
